I hope this sticks this time. Twinklight has finally been updated with the latest video I saw on Thursday, and amazingly the date the video was added to the site was April 5. So we went the whole weekend with the video on the site but not linked to.
I would like to apologize for getting everyone’s hopes up with the Twinklight update AND for being so focused on Twinklight. I would love to cover other gay vampire films[...]
UPDATE: trailer no longer available. It’s finally happened, a new episode of Twinklight is going to be available at Twinklight.tv neatly on time. I had word to expect it today (April 5) and the trailer is already available. We should expect the episode to go live later today.
Brighter in Darkness director Jason Davitt has sent through some sneak peek photos from the soon to be released full-length version of the series. The film version includes new scenes, a new score and refreshed special effects. These photos are from the new scenes.
The frigid windswept Canadian prairie would seem an unusual location to set a vampire movie, unless you were making a teenage vampire drama where the young vampire longs to be human.
The 60s vampire soap-opera Dark Shadows is being resurrected by filmmaker Tim Burton with his favorite Johnny Depp in the lead. Depp was recently interviewed for Total Film magazine and he shared his thoughts on vampires.
The latest gay vampire adult film to come to market, HIS Dracula, a 3D porn parody of Dracula is also the first gay vampire 3D film. Available on March 20 (though you can pre-order now from TLA).
Over two weeks ago I wrote that we would soon see new Twinklight episodes and I would shout about the return of the gay vampire series with the newest of vampire twinks. And I have yet to announce the new videos not because I’ve failed to be on the ball, but because the videos have yet to appear on the twinklight website. Before March 1 I had it on good authority that we should expect the new content in ’3-4 weeks’ and Twinklight filmmaker Afton had even blogged about the completion of filming and editing. That was at the beginning of March. Now over two weeks in, no new episodes. Frankly I think the whole second series could have been released on DVD faster.
Unless you were lucky enough to be in Toronto for the Sodom Vampire Love Ball 3 last month, you will not have seen for yourself how the vampire queen of Sodom was crowned. Sodom presenter Mitchel Raphael sent me the coronation video and a few photos from the night (check out the gallery at Sodom for hundreds more).
TLAvideo/TLAgay.com is holding their annual Gaybies awards… where the public gets to vote on their favorites from the last year (hmm, that gives me an idea). There are some really good films up including Kaboom, but let’s be biased and vote for the vampires… and you can vote as many times as you want. So let’s get out there and support gay vampires. Up for nomination: Vampire Boys (for sexiest gay movie… sad, it should have been in the thriller category or horror), Bite Marks (for best gay thriller), Unnatural (for best speculative fiction/fantasy). You don’t have to vote in all categories if you haven’t seen or read something, but do vote for the hotties in best actor (Thomas Dekker in Kaboom) and best supporting actor (Sean Paul Lockhart aka Brent Corrigan)… or whatever. I recently came across the Endless Night Vampire Ball event. I’d heard there was this event in Paris and after missing yet another Sodom Vampire Ball, I was eager to get out of the coffin. Endless Night holds several events throughout the year in Paris, New York, Prague and with what they bill as their biggest event, Halloween in New Orleans, all promoted by Father Sebastiaan (no relation). Father Sebastiaan is also an experienced fangsmith who crafts high-quality fangs of various styles. I need new fangs, so this gives me another excuse to head to the continent.
Every time I get an itch for vampires I end up watching some rerun or returning to one of my favorite vampire stories. But sometimes it would just be nice to discover something new, unfortunately it’s rare, after all there are only so many times I can watch the Vampire Boys or The Lair. I’m also not a very patient individual, which is hard considering how long we wait between Twinklight episodes, so I always look for the quickest release (good thing we’re living in an on-demand world).
