Lovers Who Stay With You
Review
An unassuming anthology, Lovers Who Stay With You appears to have been thrown together, typos and all, yet it manages to be one of the best collections of gay vampire short fiction. Edited by David MacMillan, the stories range from short to novella length with a wide variety of unique takes on the vampire mythology.
Some of the best stories in the collection include, Making it a Three-way by J.R. Mattingly, Dog in a Manger by Tom Millios—both tales where our hero succeeds in the end. For more light-hearted and humorous tales, Chosen by Chad Stephens and Night Wings by Barry Alexander, take the vampire mythos less seriously.
Released in 2004, this anthology is becoming hard to find however it’s available on Amazon. If there’s one collection of gay vampire erotica worth reading, Lovers Who Stay With You is at the top of the list.
