Bite Club: A West Hollywood Vampire Novel
The bars of West Hollywood, California, have always played host to a fair share of life-sucking monsters, but until now that’s been mostly metaphoric. After three prime cuts of gay[...]

Blood Sacraments
I finally received my copy of Blood Sacraments after having it rush delivered, and I’m glad I did. In one evening I sucked down half the stories. Blood Sacraments compiles 20 gay vampire short stories into one 264 page volume (and the text is bit small, so each page is dense with words). One story, Willing by Xan West appears in Men at Noon, Monsters at Midnight, and initially I was worried another two were repeats from the same authors. In fact, one story that appears in Men at Noon is continued in a way; Black Sambuca by Jeff Mann is a further adventure of Derek Maclaine who we first met in Masters of Midnight. Bloodletting by the book’s editor Todd Gregory, is a continuation of my favorite story from Midnight Hunger; our hero Cord returns to New Orleans against better advice and is found by his ex-fraternity roommate.
Overall the tales are well written, fang-filled and vampire positive. My favorites at this point were Kells by Jay Lygon and Bloodletting. I highly recommend Blood Sacraments to any follower of gay vampires.

Cord Logan returns in full length novel Need
Readers of gay vampire fiction may be familiar with Cord Logan, the young frat boy turned vampire created by Todd Gregory, and who first appeared in the last Kensington vampire anthology Midnight Hunger (Amazon paperbook or Kindle). He returned in Blood Sacraments (Amazon), which set up the story that now continues in Need (available for pre-order from Amazon print or kindle, or for your iPad in the iBookstore). Actually if you haven’t picked up Blood Sacraments, skip right to Need as the book’s first chapter is the short story.

Late Night Boyfriends: new gay vampire anthology
Late Night Boyfriends is the latest gay vampire anthology to be announced. News of the book surfaced thanks to my brother Spencer who has a story included in the collection edited by a mutual friend.
Late Night Boyfriends: Tales of the gay vampire
Late Night Boyfriends: tales of the gay vampire is quite possibly one of the best new gay vampire anthologies, and I am not saying this because my brother wrote one of the stories or because I am friends with the editor. Late Night Boyfriends is the exact gay vampire book I have always wanted to read.

Lovers Who Stay With You
An unassuming anthology, Lovers Who Stay With You appears to have been thrown together, typos and all, yet it manages to be one of the best collections of gay vampire fiction. Edited by David MacMillan, the stories range from short to novella length with a wide variety of unique takes on the vampire mythology.
Midnight Hunger
After years of wait, Kensington Publishing is releasing a third volume of their vampire anthology series. (Masters of Midnight and Midnight Thirsts were the first two… I’m sensing a theme in the titles.)
Three stories have been included in this anthology being released late August/early-September (and December for the UK!). I’m looking especially forward to the story “Blood on the Moon”.

New and old un-reviewed books
There are plenty of gay vampire books bursting onto the market as ebooks and through on-demand printing. There are now three books in the Mark Julian Vampire P.I. series and I haven’t had a chance to pick them up, or review them. I’m not going to write these books off yet, but a previous purchase from the publisher Nazca Plains left me disappointed especially given how much I’d paid for the book. So if anyone out there has bought these books and has an option, let us know (like leave a comment).
Sons of Darkness: Tales of men, blood and immortality
One of the first gay vampire anthologies, Sons of Darkness (which was followed by the sequel Brothers of Night), was a disappointing read. Unfortunately the collection is out of print[...]

Unwelcome
Vampires Michael and Ronan return in Unwelcome by Michael Griffo, the second book in the Archangel Academy series (after Unnatural). While Michael learns to adjust to being a vampire and being in his first relationship, dark forces arrive at the school. Even immortal, Michael is still a teenager, filled with rage and hormones. The new headmaster is not what he seems, nor is Michael’s father, posing a threat to Archangel, and the water vampires.
Vampire Maker
Gay vampire novel Vampire Maker by Michael Schiefelbein, the fourth vampire book featuring the character Victor. Like the previous books the story is too hung up on religion and focuses on various struggling priests rather than the vampires. While not the worst vampire book out there, the whole novel dragged to one conclusion which was not dissatisfying, but as very little happened, it could have been wrapped up sooner.
